Why Dry Land News?
Dry Land News doesn’t sound very mom-like, does it? Well, there’s a story behind it. When I was a freshman in high school, a beloved uncle got a job working for a cruise line. It was an amazing opportunity, and we were all very excited for him. However, the ocean has poor cell reception and the one drawback to this opportunity was the lack of familial communication. I decided to remedy that for him, and I created a family newsletter called Dry Land News to keep him informed of everything important.
This beloved uncle unexpectedly passed away a few years ago, but this way I still keep him informed and laughing of all my ridiculous life has to offer.
About Me
My name is Amanda and you may have figured out by now that I’m a solo mama. My daughter is Bailey and we’re trying to figure out this life thing. After her first birthday, I was able to escape an abusive marriage. We took the time to heal by living with family, but it’s now time to do this on our own. I recently bought a house, and this is a space where I share everything I’ve learned. Good, bad and mostly embarrassing.
