Day Three. Our new subdivision sent out a notice that they were throwing a community event today. There would be hot dogs, snow cones, a bounce house and some other family friendly things. I’m not a community event kinda person but Bailey saw the bounce house on the way home and she does love a good snow cone. I was going to be a good mom and meet the neighbors while doing kid friendly things for her. We walked the ¼ mile to the spot and Bailey instantly went into shy mode. She refused to play on the bounce house and I had to force her to get the face painting and temporary tattoo that I knew she would love. It was hot, gross, and every sweat bee in the area was swarming. It was not my idea of a good time. Meeting the neighbors didn’t really pan out as people didn’t really talk to each other so I was done and it was time to go home. As much as she didn’t want to do anything, she also refused to leave. I did what any good mom would do and I bribed her with a cookie just to get out of there. We made it about 10 steps before she decided she wasn’t going to walk home and she needed to be carried. My back was hurting before, but it hurts more now that carried 40 lbs for a ¼ mile. I’m tired, guys!
